The challenge
UAE Consulate in Toronto had milestones that existed on a public timetable rather than a construction one. Missing a reporting date was as serious as missing a trade.
That makes the chasing critical. Most of a schedule slipping is a question nobody followed up.
What we did
Every open question had an owner and a date by which it became a delay, and was asked again before that date rather than after it.
The budget was reported as committed against approved rather than spent against budget, which is the version that lets somebody act while there is still time.
The outcome
UAE Consulate met its reporting obligations on time, with the schedule and the record telling the same story on the same day.
