Valentino Toronto: Precision craftsmanship, verified in 3D before a single imported surface was installed.

Overview

How a luxury fashion boutique protected its imported materials program through spatial verification in a WeReno digital twin.

The Valentino Toronto boutique specified imported marble, custom metal casework, and precision lighting — materials with 10-16 week lead times and no room for on-site modifications. Any discrepancy between the design intent and the as-built condition discovered after materials arrived would mean a multi-month delay and a six-figure cost.

The problem

Long-lead imported materials with zero tolerance for on-site surprises.

The base building conditions in the shell space deviated from the landlord's drawings in three locations — a column offset, a ceiling height variance, and a soffit that encroached on the planned millwork layout. These deviations were discovered only one week before the marble was scheduled to be ordered.

"A Valentino flagship requires execution at the highest standard of international luxury retail. There is no acceptable margin for deviation from the brand anywhere in the store."

The Solution

As-built conditions verified against design before any material was ordered.

WeReno built the twin from the design package and the site survey simultaneously — overlaying the design intent against the actual as-built conditions. All three discrepancies were flagged in the model before any material was ordered. The marble layout and millwork drawings were adjusted in the model, approved, and re-issued without affecting the material lead times.

The result

All imported materials installed without modification. Boutique opened on the brand's launch date.

Every piece of imported marble, metal casework, and precision lighting fixture was installed without a single field modification. The boutique opened on Valentino's planned launch date with a complete spatial record of all installed finishes and their supplier documentation — enabling seamless warranty management for all imported materials.
