How a multi-floor professional office development used WeReno to deliver a smart-building handover to its property management team.

This multi-floor professional office building in Brampton was a new development with an extensive smart building infrastructure — integrated BMS, occupancy sensors, AV infrastructure, and network distribution — all of which needed to be documented and handed over to the property management firm before tenant fit-outs began.

The problem

Eleven smart building systems, four contractors, one handover package that had never been assembled.

The BMS, AV, structured cabling, and security contractors all delivered separate documentation packages. The property management firm had no way to understand how the systems interacted — or which contractor to call when a sensor in a north-wing floor wasn't reporting. The base building handover was scheduled for 6 weeks before the first tenant fit-out.

Each BMS zone, occupancy sensor, network switch, and AV endpoint was linked to its commissioning record, contractor warranty, and service contact.
