"A telecom retail environment has technical requirements that go well beyond standard commercial fit-out. Getting those specifications wrong on the first pass is not an option."
Overview
A new Koodo Mobile flagship store required coordination between the millwork contractor building custom display fixtures, the structured cabling team installing in-fixture network drops, and the IT team commissioning the interactive display systems — all in a 2,000 sq ft inline unit with a compressed 8-week build window.
The problem
The millwork fabrication drawings and the structured cabling plan were designed independently. When the millwork arrived on-site, three of the display fixtures had no clear path for the in-fixture network drops — requiring on-site modifications to custom cabinetry that added five days and a change order.

"A telecom retail environment has technical requirements that go well beyond standard commercial fit-out. Getting those specifications wrong on the first pass is not an option."
The Solution
WeReno combined the millwork shop drawings and the cabling plan in a single twin. Every display fixture was modelled with its cable pathway visible — conflicts were flagged before the millwork left the shop. The IT commissioning team used the twin to pre-stage their configuration sequence so every network drop was terminated and tested in the order the displays would be installed.
Technology Coordinator
"WeReno understood our technical requirements and coordinated across all trades flawlessly. Everything was tracked and verified against spec throughout."
The result
The Koodo store opened with all interactive displays operational on day one. No on-site millwork modifications were needed. The structured cabling was commissioned in full before the IT team arrived — cutting their on-site time from three days to one.

"WeReno created a store environment that showcases our products beautifully while functioning perfectly. The project stayed on schedule and within budget from start to finish."
